October is the best time of year for San Francisco and mother nature certainly did not disappoint. As part of Fleet Week's celebration, the Blue Angels treated all with the occasional flyover.

At 5000 yards, Saturday's first round was there for the taking and several turned in some great scores. Orion lead the charge with a stellar 3 over par 71 for a net 64 and a 5 shot lead over the closest competitor Mike Kosich (69) that would prove to be enough.

The weather for Sunday's round at Sharp Park might have been even more spectacular! City politics and distribution of public funding and resources aside, Sharp Park on a sunny Sunday is the epitome of a community course. The spirit of St. Andrews and the sense of a community driven property is very much captured here at this MacKenzie seaside course. It really feels like you are in a park when you gaze out at the golfers buzzing around all that surrounds the first tee and it's parkland vicinity. A family picnic would not seem out of place here.

A cozy corner table at Sharp Park's understated Spanish hacienda style clubhouse and bar provided a nice place for a post round ceremony and toast to our winners.

Orion Galioni was our eventual champion with a 1 under par 139 (64 - 75).

In a cardoff, Dana Niehaus (75-74-149) edged out Mike Kosich (69-80-149) for the runner up fine glassworks.
Orion Galioni (71 - 83 - 154) was also our low gross medalist.

Tim England handcrafted the perpetual trophy that will be used for this event. A beautiful piece carved from a fallen 75 year old Monterey Cypress (the same type of trees that surround Sharp Park).

Can't wait till next year!
